Milena Metalkova-Markova is a Bulgarian architect with research interests in heritage preservation in Japan. In 2024, she set her BA Architecture students the brief to enter the "Last Nuclear Bomb Memorial" competition, organised by Buildner in support of a universal ban on nuclear weapons. The images here represent the research and development of Architecture student Alex James' response to the brief. Alex's work addressed a series of themes related to history, heritage and memory, which Milena will discuss in further detail at the upcoming event on July 17.
